Hal Prewitt has been there and done that - all around the world. He is well known as one of the pioneers of the personal computer industry, inventing technology that helped shape the computer world as we know it today. He sold the company to raise a family, but that wasn't enough. Later in life, he became a professional race car driver and is now one of the top endurance racers in the United States. In 2015, he took on a new venture opening Prewitt Gallery where he showcases his work from one of his other passions, photography. Hal has traveled extensively throughout his career, and most recently racing in events around the world. This allows Prewitt Gallery to include shots from around the world. The Gallery opening in November 2015 and features one-of-a-kind, museum quality images. Hal Prewitt has been an artist since he was a teenager, dabbling in painting and drawing, as well as photography, but in recent years the pull to open a gallery became too strong to ignore. Prewitt, who purchased the building at 570 Main Street, knew the timing was right when the previous tenant Quicksilver left the space.
Prewitt hopes people view his photography as stunning and unique. His work captures interesting moments in diverse areas of the world, ranging from polar bears, penguins and ice from the Antarctic to a lightening storm over South Beach in Miami. His mission is to offer people photos they can't get anywhere else. Prewitt's other goal is to make his art available to a wide range of people. His cheapest offerings start out at around $35 for poster and $100 for 9 x 9 metal prints. What's next for Hal Prewitt Photography?
